Privacy policy
Last updated 12 January 2026
This policy explains what Silver Lines Payments does with the information you give us — through the consultation form on this website, by email or phone, or as part of a merchant application. We have written it in plain language rather than in the wording lawyers use to avoid committing to anything.
Information we collect
From the consultation form: your name, business name, email address, phone number and approximate monthly processing volume.
From a merchant application: additionally, the information an acquiring bank is required to collect — business registration details, beneficial ownership information, government identification, bank account details and recent processing or bank statements.
From this website: standard server logs, including IP address, browser type and the pages viewed. We do not run advertising or cross-site tracking scripts on this site.
How we use it
- To prepare a pricing comparison and respond to your enquiry.
- To submit an application to acquiring banks and processing partners on your behalf.
- To meet obligations under anti-money-laundering, Know Your Customer and card scheme rules.
- To service, support and review your account once it is live.
Who we share it with
Acquiring banks, processors and gateway providers we submit an application to, and the service providers who host and maintain our systems under written confidentiality terms. We also disclose information where we are legally required to do so.
We do not sell your information, and we do not pass it to lead brokers or marketing list companies. If you complete the form on this site, the only organisations that hear from us about you are those involved in underwriting or servicing your account.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not result in an account are deleted after 24 months. Records connected to a live or closed merchant account are retained for five years after the relationship ends, which is the retention period our banking partners require.
Cookies
This site uses only the cookies needed for the pages to function correctly. We do not set advertising or profiling cookies. You can clear or block cookies through your browser settings and the site will continue to work.
Security
Information is transmitted over an encrypted connection and stored on systems protected by access controls, logging and encryption at rest. Cardholder data is handled in line with PCI DSS requirements and is tokenised so that raw card numbers are not retained in our reporting systems.
Your rights
Depending on where you are based, you may have the right to request a copy of the information we hold about you, to correct it, to ask for it to be deleted, or to object to how we use it. Write to support@silver-lines.com and we will respond within 30 days. Where information is held to satisfy a banking or anti-money-laundering obligation, we may be unable to delete it until that obligation expires.
